ROUTES AROUND SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS
Path to the Lagunas de Montebello. Leaving from San Cristobal, take the road núm. 190 in south-easterly direction to reach Comitan de Dominguez (95 km away). In this city you can visit historic landmarks like the Temple of Santo Domingo, built in the s. XVI in a style reminiscent of Moorish and Belisario Domínguez House Museum, which preserves intact furniture, office and personal items of the famous doctor and politician Chiapas. Continuing along the same route to reach the archaeological site of Tenam Bridge, 10 km southeast of Comitan, where you can find a system of stone terraces on which rest its squares, buildings and ball games. 16 km below the reach Trinitaria, where you can follow the road núm. 307 to find the archaeological zone Chinkultik, ancient Mayan city that retains platforms overlapping limestone where the main urban and ball game. OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
In the outskirts of San Cristobal de las Casas find large open spaces that allow you to perform all kinds of activities from rock climbing walls to explore underground tunnels decorated with extraordinary limestone formations.
The cascade Chorreadero. It is located in Chiapa de Corzo, over 60 km west of San Cristobal de las Casas on highway No.. 190.
